This Extreme Devotion series rivals one of my favorite series’ of books – Ted Dekker’s The Martyr's Song series – maybe not at quite the same accelerated speed, but suspenseful nonetheless and passionate stories full of heart-wrenching, redemptive plots – her insight into a variety of cultures and their climates gives a fascinating glimpse into the vastly different countries that each novel of this set focuses on.
Kathi Macias has done something highly effective I haven’t seen in a book before (except for in a television series…you know when they show a picture or a video clip of something that’s going to happen after the commercial break?) – a one-sentence excerpt from the following segment is printed on the facing page at the beginning of each chapter…heart-stopping, question-raising lines – I loved it!
I really enjoyed the start of this series and have a feeling that I will be reading all of them!!!
